The Dance

Dancers at a wedding - While challenging to photograph, it often leads to some of the best photos taken on the day, as the dancers are both moved by the music and focused on each other. The easily self-conscious often forget their inhibitions and become natural and comfortable while dancing, resulting in marvelous images of them enjoying the festivities. The flow of the clothing is often amazing in itself since still photography is enhanced by the graceful movement of the material and the form of the dance. A wedding dress can easily create a dreamlike image on the dance floor.

Obviously, the couple's first dance, the dance of the bride with her father and the groom with his mother are deeply emotional moments. The love seen between the bride and groom during their first dance, now relaxed from all the pomp and circumstance of the day, are often a high point of the day photographically. When these special moments have passed, then the general movement and relaxed feeling on the dance floor result in many beautiful, happy and sometimes funny shots of family and friends. Ethnic dances at some weddings become unique images when the action is captured.
